MY THOUGHTS ON BREEDING
The breeding purpose is small, and I intend to get everything in order before breeding, such as health tests, merits and to evaluate results from both trials and from the shooting field.
Bramblemoor Gundogs stands for both parents to contribute to the interest of the litter. The combination should be equally interesting, not only the male dog. My opinion is that the bitch line is as important as the male dog line. If not even more important. After all, it’s very often the puppies are raised, interact and grow up only with the mother present.
Both parents are carefully selected, and the combination is well-planned. Their trainability and instincts are proven on working tests, field trials and out in the shooting fields hunting. But also in ordinary life as family members. The combination is health tested clear for hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia and eyes are clear. DNA tested for EIC, HNPK, SD2, prcd-PRA, CNM, STDG, and MCD. I do not breed colors, but I do care about the exterior.
Bramblemoor Gundogs primary goal is to preserve the classic English Labrador Retriever. Our priority is healthy, mentally stable dogs that are as friendly family members as excellent game finders.
I only own male dogs. And hope to present stud dogs available for breeding in the future. I believe both male and bitch-owners have their equal responsibility when it comes to setting up the combination, and that we are both as selective in choosing the right individuals for the purpose of preserving our lovely breed.
